MealPlan
YOUR INFORMATION

Privacy, plainly.

MealPlan is designed around on-device planning. This policy explains what stays local and when a feature contacts another service.

Effective September 27, 2026 · Applies to MealPlan for iOS and Android

Who operates MealPlan

MealPlan is operated by Diego Alexander Lopez Ramirez. Privacy and support questions can be sent to loradi@hotmail.com.

Information kept on your device

MealPlan stores the profile details you enter, including your name, goals, preferences, optional height and weight, budget, currency, meal schedule, inventory, shopping list, prices, recipes you save, scanned product records and food log. A chosen profile photo is copied into the app's local documents area. Most structured app data is stored using the platform's secure storage. There is no MealPlan account, advertising SDK, analytics service or MealPlan cloud sync in this version.

Optional device permissions

  • Health: with your permission, MealPlan reads the latest available height and weight from Apple Health or Android Health Connect for you to review before saving locally. MealPlan does not write health data.
  • Location: Smart Fridge can read your current coordinates when you tap “Use my current location.” The coordinates and shopping address are saved locally. This version does not automatically discover nearby stores or fetch their live prices.
  • Camera and photos: the camera scans barcodes or takes a profile photo if you choose. You may select a photo from your library. The profile photo remains in local app storage.

You can deny these permissions and still use MealPlan's manual entry features. You can change permissions in device settings.

When the app uses the internet

When you look up a barcode, MealPlan sends that barcode to the public Open Food Facts API and may load the product photo from the image URL it returns. These requests necessarily reveal network information such as your IP address to that service. MealPlan does not send your profile, health measurements, inventory or location with the barcode request. The availability and accuracy of third-party product data vary by country and product. See Open Food Facts terms for information about that service.

Retention, removal and backups

Local records remain until you edit or remove them or remove the app. You can clear optional profile values in MealPlan. Removing the app removes its local documents and app container, but iOS keychain entries and operating-system backups can persist according to device settings. MealPlan does not have a server-side account or profile to delete. Contact us for help locating device backup and keychain controls. We do not control how long Open Food Facts retains its own request logs.

Children, security and changes

MealPlan is a general meal-planning tool and is not directed to children. It does not provide medical advice or verify allergies. We use platform secure storage for structured local records, but no device storage can be guaranteed completely secure. We may update this policy when features or data practices change and will revise the effective date above.
